Julie Trias and Elizabeth Nammour, former Airbnb data team members, encountered challenges in managing data security due to data sprawl across various sources. Their frustration with existing solutions inspired them to launch Teleskope, an automated data protection tool.
Teleskope recently secured a $5 million seed investment, aiming to revolutionize data protection processes.
Trias explained, “Existing tools for understanding, protecting, and redacting data fell short at Airbnb. Teleskope fills this gap by offering automated data identification and protection.”
The platform caters to different use cases, from cleaning up data warehouses to complying with regulations. Teleskope’s solution leverages a range of models to classify sensitive data, ensuring comprehensive data protection.
Despite facing challenges in navigating the venture capital landscape as female founders, Trias and Nammour refined their pitch and secured funding from notable investors like Primary Venture Partners and Lerer Hippeau.
