Ubisoft Confirms XDefiant Has Been Delayed Yet Again – But Another Test is Coming

Ubisoft recently announced on social media that XDefiant has faced yet another delay. This shooter, originally set to release last summer, has encountered various issues causing multiple postponements. While reports suggested internal development struggles due to leadership problems and lack of direction, the tone of the latest social media post was more positive.

The upcoming tests are set to take place across all platforms within a twelve-hour window. This is to stress test the servers and gather crucial data in preparation for launch. The post did not address recent rumors that have somewhat affected the project’s progress.

Continued Delays for XDefiant

XDefiant entered beta last summer and received positive feedback from over one million gamers. However, it has since encountered challenges with Xbox and PlayStation rejection, as well as issues with the game’s netcode. Despite several testing phases, Ubisoft has yet to confirm a solid release window, leading to missed rumored launch dates.

In their latest social media update, the XDefiant team expressed gratitude:

‘Thank you for your continued support for XDefiant. We are grateful for our dedicated community and appreciate your participation in our test phases, including Insider Sessions.

Player feedback has always been a priority for us. Although we aimed for a March launch, further testing is necessary. We are preparing for a 12-hour Server Test Session on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC to ensure server readiness for launch. Your help in stress testing our servers and providing feedback is crucial.

Following this test, we plan to announce a launch date and share more about the game’s content. Thank you for your patience; we will return with updates soon.’

Once highly anticipated, XDefiant promised innovative gameplay, but the excitement has waned. Players are eager for new experiences, with strong competitors like Modern Warfare 3 and The Finals capturing attention.
