Connections is the newest puzzle game from the New York Times. The objective is to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying the relationships between them. The puzzle resets daily at midnight, with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips below. And if you still need help, the answers are provided at the end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to organize these words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections can be related to video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, chain restaurant names, and more.
Some words may seem to fit multiple themes, but there is only one correct answer. You can shuffle and rearrange the grid to help visualize the connections better.
Each group is color-coded, starting with the easiest yellow group, followed by green, blue, and purple groups.
Select four words and submit. If correct, the words will be removed, revealing the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, with only four allowed before the game ends.
