Siadhal Magos and Shahriar Tajbakhsh worked for Uber and Palantir when they realized that the hiring process, especially interviews, was becoming cumbersome for many corporate HR departments. They saw the need for disruption in the hiring process but wanted to maintain the human element. As a result, they created Metaview, an AI-powered note-taking app designed for recruiters and hiring managers to record, analyze, and summarize job interviews.
Metaview integrates with various platforms and tools to capture interview content automatically. It enhances recruiting conversations by extracting relevant data and enriching itself with information from other sources. While alternative transcription services exist, Metaview’s AI is tailored specifically for recruiting needs and assists users with their recruiting workflows.
Traditional job interviews have flaws due to human biases, and tools like Metaview aim to address these issues. However, there are concerns about biases within AI technologies. Magos claims that Metaview’s diverse training data mitigates bias and performs well in recruitment workflows.
Metaview recently received $7 million in funding and has 500 clients, including companies like Brex, Quora, Pleo, and Improbable. The funds will be used to expand the product and engineering team, refine the AI for better data extraction, and develop systems to detect issues in the hiring process. Despite data retention concerns, Metaview continues to attract customers and grow rapidly.
