Palworld creator Pocketpair has partnered with Tencent, the world’s largest game company, on cloud technology.
This collaboration could potentially eliminate wait times for game servers for players. The popularity of Palworld, dubbed “Pokemon with guns,” skyrocketed to 25 million players in just one month. This surge in player numbers caused significant internet traffic congestion, as discussed in a previous DeanBeat column.
Tencent Cloud has announced its partnership with game studio Pocketpair to provide dedicated multiplayer servers for Palworld. Leveraging Tencent Cloud Lighthouse, a cloud server service tailored for lightweight scenarios, the collaboration aims to enhance the gaming experience for players globally. Palworld players worldwide will receive this service through Metastation, Tencent Cloud’s partner in Singapore.
