Apple has officially announced the dates for the highly anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. The event is scheduled to take place from June 10 to June 14, 2024, with a special kickoff event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California on June 10. Expect exciting reveals of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and visionOS 2.
WWDC will be free for all developers in an online format. Participants will have access to a wide range of online sessions and labs showcasing the latest software advancements across Apple’s hardware lineup.
The keynote address will be available for live streaming online through the Apple Developer app, Apple’s website, and YouTube channel. Throughout the week, Apple will also share videos and information related to the event.
In addition to the online experience, Apple will also host a special in-person event for developers and students, albeit with limited space. Those interested in attending can apply through Apple’s lottery system (details available on the Apple Developer site). Selected attendees will have the opportunity to witness the event in person, interact with Apple team members, and engage in special activities like the State of the Union presentation and Apple Design Awards.
Traditionally, Apple organizes the Swift Student Challenge after announcing the WWDC dates. However, this year, the challenge took place early with the winners set to be announced on March 28. Winners will have the chance to attend the special event at Apple Park, while 50 Distinguished Winners will receive an invitation to Cupertino for a three-day experience.
More details about WWDC 2024 will be communicated to developers through the Apple Developer app and website.
