The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra stands out as one of the top smartphones available currently. Featuring impressive specs like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, ample RAM and storage, a massive 200MP camera, dual telephoto lenses offering 3x and 5x optical zoom, S Pen integration, and more, it delivers a remarkable package.
However, there are areas that can be further enhanced in its successor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Here are some improvements I hope to see in the upcoming model.
A Refreshed Design

While the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s design is decent, it has largely remained unchanged from its predecessors, making it feel a bit outdated. It’s time for a design overhaul in the Galaxy S25 Ultra series to inject some freshness.
A revamped design is overdue for the Galaxy S lineup. While there’s no confirmation yet on a design refresh for the next iteration, I’m optimistic about the possibility.
Expand RAM Options
Considering the Galaxy S21 Ultra provided both 12GB and 16GB RAM options, reinstating the 16GB variant for the highest storage capacity in the Galaxy S25 Ultra would be a desirable improvement.
With the increasing demands of modern apps and tasks, a higher RAM option would ensure the device remains future-proof and competitive, especially given its premium pricing.
Given that competitors like the OnePlus 12 offer 16GB RAM at a lower price point, Samsung should reconsider offering more RAM configurations for its flagship non-foldable model.
Enhanced Camera Capabilities and 10x Optical Zoom

The shift from 10x optical zoom in the Galaxy S23 Ultra to 5x optical zoom in the S24 Ultra was a perplexing move by Samsung, as the former’s zoom capabilities were a standout feature. Bringing back the 10x optical zoom with enhanced megapixels and sensor size in the Galaxy S25 Ultra would be a welcome change.
Moreover, an upgrade to the ultrawide camera’s megapixels for better resolution and detail capture would further elevate the device’s photography capabilities.
Improved Fast Charging
Boosting the fast charging capability of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, such as incorporating faster wired charging speeds seen in other flagship models like the OnePlus 12, would be advantageous. Speedy charging from 0 to 100 in around 30 minutes, as offered by competing devices, would enhance user convenience.
While the S24 Ultra’s 45W fast wired charging is an improvement over its predecessor, aiming for faster charging speeds in the S25 Ultra would align with market trends and user expectations.
Reintroduction of Expandable Storage
Resurrecting the option for expandable storage in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, while offering high internal storage variants, would cater to users’ diverse storage needs. The convenience of adding extra storage through a memory card remains appealing for many consumers.
Despite the declining presence of expandable storage in flagship devices, reintroducing this feature could set Samsung apart and cater to a wider audience looking for flexible storage solutions.
Anticipating the Future
While the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is relatively fresh in the market, anticipation for the future Galaxy S25 lineup is building. With room for enhancements and considering the premium pricing, users have high expectations for the upcoming iteration.
