Justin Grooms has taken over as the interim CEO of one-click checkout company Bolt, replacing Maju Kuruvilla, as per Grooms’ LinkedIn profile.
Kuruvilla confirmed his departure on LinkedIn and X, simply stating, “One-Click Checkedout from @bolt! Onwards” with a rocket emoji. Arjun Sethi from Tribe Capital commented on his post, praising his work.
The Bolt board voted to remove Kuruvilla, who took over as CEO in January 2022 after founder Ryan Breslow stepped down.
Grooms, Bolt’s global head of sales, joined the company five years ago and has held executive positions at various tech companies, as stated on his LinkedIn profile.
Bolt faced controversy in the past, including a federal probe involving Breslow and layoffs affecting a significant portion of the workforce.
In recent developments, Bolt signed an exclusive deal with Checkout.com to provide accelerated checkout services.
