Shift Up and Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced that a free demo for their upcoming sci-fi action game Stellar Blade will be available starting this Friday, March 29th.
The confirmation of the free demo release came via the PlayStation Blog after it was accidentally made briefly available on the PlayStation Store earlier this month, as reported by IGN. The demo is expected to stay on the PlayStation Store after its official launch this Friday. The demo will showcase the opening moments of the game.
The demo will start at the beginning of the story, including opening cinematics, tutorials, and a major boss fight, all within a mission to clear a human city overrun by creatures known as the Naytiba. Like the full game, the demo will run at 60 frames per second and feature voiceovers in various languages such as English, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Latin-Spanish.
Players who complete the demo can transfer their progress to the full game upon its release next month, provided the save data is stored on the PS5 console. Director Kim Hyung Tae also hinted at a special surprise for players who complete the first stage of the demo.
The demo will be available for free on March 29th, with the full Stellar Blade game set to launch exclusively on PS5 for $70 on April 26th.
