Playnance has recently unveiled PlayBlock, a Layer-3 gaming ecosystem powered by Arbitrum Orbit on Gelato’s RaaS platform. This innovative platform aims to attract over ten thousand daily active users to its web3 games ecosystem, providing developers with streamlined processes and eliminating previous blockchain UX issues. The official launch of PlayBlock on the mainnet is scheduled for early April.
Enhancing Game Development with PlayBlock
Game developers crave simplicity, universal profiles, and digital assets that can easily transition across ecosystems. PlayBlock’s new design offers developers just that, giving them control over various game aspects. While many tools are currently available to developers, this Layer-3 platform is poised to lead web3’s mass adoption surge, with a rapidly expanding portfolio of over one hundred mobile-first games in development.
“Launching our dedicated chain is a natural evolution of Playnance’s vision as one of the leading peer-to-peer web3 gaming platforms,” said Roman Levi, CTO at Playnance. “Our ambition is driven by the goal to combine the benefits of Web3 on-chain gaming with the fun and accessibility of traditional games, all without the web3 complexity.”
Integration with Arbitrum Nitro and Orbit
The PlayBlock chain utilizes Arbitrum Nitro’s rollup technology, which has rapidly expanded its network since its inception in 2023 to scale Ethereum securely. With this arsenal of tools, the chain achieves a 250ms block time and near-instant finality.
PlayBlock introduces the PBG token set to enable a zero-gas user experience by leveraging Orbit’s native gas token feature. Additionally, the platform will introduce its own stablecoin, USDP, to enhance the gamer experience by reducing volatility.
Designed to eliminate the need for users to pay for gas, PlayBlock’s Layer-3 chain streamlines processes, offering uninterrupted and immersive gameplay experiences with minimal disruptions.
Furthermore, PlayBlock will feature a dedicated self-custodial native wallet, PlayWall, based on ERC-4337, to simplify onboarding processes with seamless social login and account creation.
Gelato RaaS Integration
PlayBlock will integrate Gelato’s RaaS platform to provide a service “without limits” that leverages a suite of web3 services to enhance fairness and create more user-friendly gameplay directly on the blockchain. This collaboration will empower developers to focus on their core business and grow and scale at pace.
Playnance has also confirmed its multi-chain vision on Arbitrum Orbit for the future.
