The PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Opening Stage has come to an end, showcasing intense CS battles as 24 teams competed to advance to the next phase and secure their spot as the first CS2 Major champions.
On the final day, six teams battled it out for the last three slots in the Elimination Stage. TheMongolZ, Imperial, and FURIA emerged victorious, and we’re here to highlight their journey.
TheMongolZ’s Resilience
TheMongolZ faced a tough start in the tournament but showed incredible resilience. They turned things around and secured a decisive 2-0 victory over Legacy to advance. The exceptional performance of 16-year-old mzinho stood out, showcasing his potential as a rising star in the CS scene.
Imperial’s Upset Victory
Imperial faced a challenging series against GamerLegion but managed to secure a hard-fought victory. The experienced players, felps and HEN1, played a crucial role in leading the team to success. Despite doubts about their future in the tournament, Imperial’s performance has been commendable.
FURIA’s Triumph
FURIA overcame early challenges to emerge victorious against SAW in the final match of the Opening Stage. Veteran AWPer FalleN showcased a stellar performance reminiscent of his glory days with Luminosity and SK Gaming.
Despite being underestimated, FURIA has shown promise in the tournament, and we believe they have what it takes to surprise in the Elimination Stage.
