We are on the verge of Google’s highly anticipated smartphone release – the Google Pixel 8a. A recent report has shed some light on the potential specifications of the Pixel 8a, indicating significant upgrades in hardware.
Starting with the chipset, according to a report from Android Authority, the Pixel 8a is expected to be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chip. The Tensor G3, which debuted in the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, is a notable improvement over the Tensor G2 used in the Pixel 7a.
Additionally, the report suggests that the Pixel 8a will maintain the 6.1-inch display size of the Pixel 7a but will feature a boosted 120Hz refresh rate and an increased brightness of 1,400 nits. The camera setup is said to remain unchanged with a 64-megapixel main camera, 13MP ultrawide camera, and 12MP selfie camera.
The Pixel 8a is anticipated to be available in more markets than its predecessor, expanding to 10 additional countries, including the Czech Republic, Finland, and Poland.
The Google Pixel 7a has gained popularity as a budget-friendly smartphone, and the Pixel 8a seems poised to build on its success with improved features. The announcement of the Pixel 8a is scheduled for May 14 during Google I/O 2024.
