Hybridcasual mobile games are currently experiencing a significant upsurge, with the genre boasting the highest click-through rate and generating 800% more average revenue per monthly active user compared to hypercasual games.

Despite a 2% decline in overall installs, a 2% decrease in consumer spending, and a 7% drop in play sessions, mobile gaming continued to dominate half of the video game revenue in 2023. Projections suggest that mobile gaming revenue will increase further by 4% to reach $111.4 billion in 2024.
Success Stories
Established titles like Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile maintained their stellar performance in 2023, generating $1.48 billion and $1.14 billion, respectively. Games like Roblox, Candy Crush, and Subway Surfers dominated the download charts in 2023. A standout newcomer was Monopoly GO!, which became the most downloaded game on iOS and surpassed $1 billion in revenue in 2023.
In the report, AppLovin VP of global business development Daniel Tchernahovsky emphasized the growth potential in the mobile gaming market, citing the success of new titles like Monopoly GO! as evidence. The report also highlights the increasing opt-in rate for ATT (App Tracking Transparency) among gamers, with the highest acceptance rate recorded in countries like Indonesia, the UAE, and Brazil. Hypercasual games have the highest opt-in rate based on genre.

Developers are expanding their reach by porting mobile games to console and PC platforms. The report indicates a significant 5.2% year-on-year growth in the PC gaming segment. Additionally, 61% of developers are integrating AI into their workflows, particularly for element creation and campaign scaling.
