Connections is the newest brain-teasing puzzle game created by the New York Times. The challenge involves sorting a group of 16 words into four secret categories by uncovering the connections that tie them together. Each night at midnight, a new puzzle is presented with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compete with friends.
Some days are more challenging than others. If you’re finding today’s Connections puzzle tricky, check out our helpful tips and hints below. And if you’re still stumped, the answers for today are revealed at the end.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you are presented with a grid of 16 words, and your goal is to organize them into four sets of four by identifying the underlying connections. These connections could be related to video game titles, book series names, shades of red, or chain restaurant brands, among others.
While some words may fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer. You have the option to shuffle and rearrange the words on the grid to help uncover the connections more effectively.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to decipher, followed by green, blue, and purple.
Select four words and submit your guess. If correct, the four words will be removed, and the connecting theme will be revealed. Incorrect guesses will count as mistakes, with only four mistakes allowed before the game ends.
