Electronic Arts has made a significant move by bringing many of its classic PC games and expansions to Valve’s PC gaming platform, Steam. This includes titles from popular series such as Populous, Command & Conquer, and Dungeon Keeper. Many of these games were previously not readily available on Steam, making this a major win for fans of retro PC gaming.
Among the notable additions are titles from the now-defunct Bullfrog Productions, like Dungeon Keeper Gold and Populous. Additionally, players can now enjoy games like The Saboteur, a hidden gem from Pandemic Studios where players sabotage the Nazi occupation of Paris in the 1940s. The full list of titles now available on Steam can be found below.
To celebrate the release of these classic games on Steam, EA is offering a sale with discounts on all titles. For fans of the Command & Conquer series, the best deal is the Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection, currently available at a 50% discount for $10. Other games in the lineup are discounted to just $2, except for The Saboteur, which is priced at $5. The sale is running until March 21.
These games are an important part of PC gaming history, and it’s great to see them officially available on Steam. However, it’s also a reminder of EA’s history of shutting down beloved studios shortly after making these games available on Steam. Despite this, fans can now enjoy these classic titles through Steam and EA Play.
