We finally learned the release date of 11 Bit Studios’ highly anticipated Frostpunk 2 during the Xbox Partner Preview today. Despite the game’s frosty post-apocalyptic setting, Frostpunk 2 is set to release in the middle of summer.
Specifically, the game will launch for PC on July 25, and players who purchase the deluxe edition will have the opportunity to play it early. Pre-ordering Frostpunk 2‘s deluxe edition will grant access to the base game 72 hours before release on July 22 and will also include participation in a beta for the sandbox mode in April. The deluxe edition will come with a digital novella called Warm Flesh, as well as the game’s digital artbook and soundtrack. Additionally, players can look forward to three paid DLCs post-launch. For those who prefer to skip the deluxe edition bonuses, the standard version will be available on PC Game Pass on release day.
If you’re not familiar with Frostpunk 2, it is a sequel to a survival real-time strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Unlike its predecessor, the sequel focuses more on city-building and management, with players making crucial political and resource allocation decisions. The trailer released during the Xbox Partner Preview provides a glimpse into the gameplay.
If the game sparks your interest, Frostpunk 2 will be available for PC on July 25 and will be part of the PC Game Pass catalog upon release. It will also be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at a later date, with inclusion in the console version of Game Pass.
