Frogwares unveiled The Sinking City 2, a new survival horror game, at Xbox’s Partner Preview event. The sequel to the developer’s prior title, The Sinking City, is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, without a confirmed release date yet. Frogwares plans to kickstart the development process in the near future.
The Sinking City 2 is constructed using Unreal Engine 5 and takes place in the 1920s in Arkham, a city inspired by Lovecraft. The trailer depicts the main character, potentially Charles Reed from the first game, battling supernatural threats in the city’s flooded streets. The game is now available for wishlisting on Steam.
The original Sinking City faced controversy as Frogwares engaged in a legal dispute with publisher Nacon over distribution. The Steam version of the game was reportedly unauthorized by Frogwares. The disagreement was resolved in January, with a commitment from Nacon to release a new, optimized version of The Sinking City later this year.
