Venus Williams, the legendary tennis player and seven-time Grand Slam winner, has showcased her eye for interior design through her firm V Starr Interiors, which she founded 22 years ago. Now, Williams is venturing into the generative AI space with a new platform called Palazzo. This platform offers design ideas to inspire individuals looking to revamp their living spaces.
Palazzo was officially launched today and is accessible on the web, with plans to release iOS and Android apps in the near future.
Upon entering the platform, users are prompted to upload photos of the room they wish to design. An AI-powered assistant named Vinci then generates an edited photo of the room based on the users’ preferences. Vinci can create renderings aligned with various styles, such as mid-century modern, by analyzing user input. Users can also upload inspiration photos to provide Vinci with a better understanding of their design vision.
Palazzo limits the number of free design iterations users can create. The platform offers bundles for additional credits, starting at $5 for 20 credits and going up to $75 for 500 credits. A referral program also rewards users with tokens for referring others to the platform.
The Palazzo team consists of co-founder Raffi Holzer, who previously founded Avvir, and Edward Lando, founder of Goody and an angel investor. The platform offers an “Aesthetic DNA” test to help generate designs tailored to users’ preferred aesthetics.
Palazzo aims to expand its platform beyond generative AI by incorporating shopping and checkout features, allowing users to purchase furniture and decor directly from the platform. The company also plans to connect users with home service providers for executing their design visions.
Despite the growing competition in the generative AI space, Palazzo stands out with Venus Williams on its team, bringing two decades of interior design expertise to the platform.
