In this installment of You Asked: Panasonic TVs, Apple TV with Dolby FlexConnect, and the TV spies among us.
Premium Panasonic
Paul Fillingham asks: Which Panasonic almost matches the Sony? And @indibassi4817 writes: Why don’t you ever speak about Panasonic?
I’m assuming you mean Panasonic TVs. If you meant Panasonic Blu-ray players, the answer is that I’ve not been doing many Blu-ray player reviews lately. However, I plan to compare a Magnetar player to a Panasonic one soon.
Regarding Panasonic TVs, the main reason I don’t talk about them is the lack of distribution in North America. This limits my access to the products for review, which is unfortunate as Panasonic produces high-quality TVs. I will try to source notable Panasonic OLEDs for review, even though it’s challenging due to the distribution issues.
While I can’t easily get Panasonic TVs for review, I’m aware of their reputation and will continue to make efforts to include them in my content. Stay tuned for updates on this front!
Apple TV and FlexConnect?
DoctorVadarWho writes: Do you think the Apple TV will get Dolby Atmos FlexConnect?
In my opinion, it’s unlikely that Apple will add Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to Apple TV, as it may not align with their business priorities. Instead, Apple might develop a tuning algorithm to deliver similar spatial audio features without additional hardware requirements.
Apple is known for its innovative technology, and I believe they will focus on creating unique audio solutions that enhance the user experience. Dolby Atmos FlexConnect may find its way into other devices, but Apple is likely to take a different approach.
Spy where?
Dadsproj07 writes: What are your thoughts about the issue of “spying” for TCL TVs and Hisense TVs?
The concern about spying on TVs, particularly from specific brands like TCL and Hisense, raises important questions about privacy and data collection. While some may perceive certain actions as spying, it’s essential to consider the broader context of data gathering in today’s interconnected world.
