The Unwind games networking event has evolved into the South Australian Games Association (SAGA), a non-profit organization that serves as a hub for game developers in South Australia. According to the announcement post on LinkedIn, SAGA aims to provide local game developers with tailored presentations, playtesting events, and promotional opportunities while highlighting South Australia’s vibrant game scene. The organization’s goal is to expand the state’s game industry to become the largest in Australia.
SAGA’s non-profit committee includes Patrick Webb as chair, Arthur Ah Chee as vice chair, Kirsty Parkin as treasurer, Rachel Mesler as secretary, and Chantal Ryan as a committee member. In its first year, SAGA plans to host community events and launch initiatives to support and promote the local gaming community, both in-person and online.
The association’s key objectives are to support and champion the success of South Australian game developers, act as a contact point for the game development community, and raise the profile of the gaming industry in South Australia and beyond.
