Fortnite has been split in half since mid-Chapter 3, with a Build side for players who want to push the meta forward and a Zero Builds side for those who prefer gunplay without the unique mechanic. These modes have been separate until recently, when a player found a way to build in Zero Build mode by exploiting a bug.
The player, u/fett95, shared the bug on Reddit, revealing that by using a specific emote, they were able to access the Build Menu in Zero Build mode. The emote, which originates from a SpiderVerse crossover, triggers the Build Menu when the player receives a spider-man-themed mallet. The player demonstrated full access to the build options on Spawn Island, although they did not have mats to build with.
However, an older bug involving Bots dropping unusable mats when killed could potentially be combined with the emote bug to enable players to build in Zero Build mode. While it may be tempting to use these bugs to gain an advantage in the game, it’s important to note that doing so could result in a ban from Epic.
Although the bug has been showcased, the specific circumstances in which it occurs have not been fully determined. It seems that the bug may be inconsistent and not easily recreated. Nevertheless, if the bug becomes widespread, it could cause issues in Zero Build games.
Ultimately, it’s important for players to avoid exploiting bugs and to play the game fairly. It’s also crucial for developers to patch these bugs to maintain the integrity of the game.
