Kristine Locker, tired of the cumbersome process of organizing and sharing shopping links, decided to create her own social shopping platform. WantLocker, named after its founder, serves as a centralized virtual wish list where users can save and categorize online products, collaborate with friends, and create shareable collections. Launched in 2022 as a Chrome extension and iOS app, WantLocker recently secured a $2.5 million investment from Wonder Ventures.
Unlike other influencer-focused platforms, WantLocker is designed for everyday consumers seeking to curate shoppable collections for fun, without the pressure to monetize their social media following. With a focus on user-generated authentic sharing, WantLocker offers a “Shopping Club” where users can earn rewards through a referral program.
WantLocker generates revenue through affiliate partnerships with brands, ensuring fair competition by featuring only participating brands on its discovery page. The company’s recent round of funding included investors such as Cabell Hickman, a Locker user featured in The Wall Street Journal, and former Honey executive Chris Arreguin.
With a rapidly growing user base of 80,000 monthly active users, WantLocker is reshaping the social commerce landscape.
