VALORANT Patch 8.03 has been released, bringing significant changes, including a major buff to Chamber. This comes after a sharp decline in the pick rate of this agent. Let’s take a closer look at the buffs to Chamber and other details of VALORANT Patch 8.03.
Is the Chamber meta finally returning to VALORANT following Patch 8.03?
Chamber was initially a powerful agent, dominating the meta for almost a year and boasting high pick rates in major tournaments. However, significant nerfs from Riot Games resulted in a sharp drop in Chamber’s pick rates.
In VALORANT Patch 8.03, Chamber is receiving the following buffs:
- Headhunter (Q): Price decreased from 150 to 100.
- Tour De Force (X): Firing rate increased from 0.7 to 0.9.
It’s important to note that no changes have been made to the functioning of Chamber’s Rendezvous or Trademark. With the Tour De Force’s firing rate increasing, Chamber’s ultimate can now synchronize with the Operator’s power. However, the introduction of the Outlaw in VALORANT has diminished the potency of Tour De Force.
Furthermore, the recent price adjustment to Headhunter allows players to acquire eight bullets for a reduced cost of 800 credits, down from 1200. This will lead to a more flexible economic strategy for players when it comes to weapon selections. Maps where Chamber may have a higher pick rate in VALORANT competitive play are likely to include Lotus, Split, and Bind.
Chamber has historically been associated with the Operator and the Marshal during full-buys and half-buys, respectively. With the launch of the Outlaw, Chamber now has another weapon in its arsenal to make a comeback in the competitive meta.
