Epic Games reported that the Epic Games Store has reached 270 million PC players in 2023, marking a 17% increase from 2022, which equated to 40 million new players.
The Epic Games Store community now boasts a total of 804 million Epic cross-platform accounts, with 2023 seeing a peak of 36.1 million Daily Active Users and 75 million Monthly Active Users, up from last year’s 68 million.
In 2023, the store introduced 1,300 new PC titles, growing its offerings to over 2900 titles. The 88% increase since 2022 has expanded the game selection available to the audience.

Furthermore, Epic Games partnered with developers and publishers to provide users with 86 free games last year, valued at over $2,000 in total. This drove the total number of claimed free games to over 580 million, introducing these titles to new and expanded audiences.
The store has made significant improvements to launcher performance, resulting in a loading time reduction to one-third of the prior load time for 95% of users. In addition, Epic launched self-publishing tools, simplifying the process for releasing a game on the Epic Games Store.
With Epic Rewards, users can now earn 5% rewards on all purchases made, redeemable against everything currently available on the store. Moreover, throughout the year, Epic has boosted these rewards to 10% during key Epic Games Store sales, a practice planned to continue in 2024.
Another initiative, Epic First Run, empowers developers to retain 100% of their net revenue in the first six months of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store.
What’s planned for the Epic Games Store in 2024?
The Epic Games Store aims to focus on enhancing game discovery and the overall player experience moving forward. Some of the planned initiatives include the launch of a new download manager, improvements to Offline Mode, a more meaningful friends list, and the ability for developers and publishers to bring their own subscription services to the store. Additionally, the store will soon be available on iOS devices, facilitated by the new Digital Markets Act.
