Get ready, because VALORANT Episode 9 Act 3 is almost here, bringing with it a brand new map. This time, though, it’s not for competitive play – instead, the new map, called Glitch, will be for Team Deathmatch mode. This means casual players can dive into this new environment to showcase their aiming skills. So, without further ado, let’s dive into everything you need to know about the new map in VALORANT, Glitch.
VALORANT Introduces Glitch: The New TDM Map
The highlight of Patch 9.08 is the Glitch map, specially designed for 5v5 Team Deathmatch (TDM). Set in a glitched-out Max Bot Arena, Glitch offers a fresh and chaotic environment for intense duels.
For those unfamiliar, Max Bots are robots created by Killjoy and Raze for sparring, as seen in the 2022 cinematic.
This new map demonstrates Riot’s dedication to providing casual play options, expanding the TDM map pool, and ensuring the game remains enjoyable outside of competitive gameplay.
At first glance, Glitch appears to be a blend of Haven, Pearl, and Sunset maps. Unlike other TDM maps, Glitch features tight spaces, leading to players strategically holding positions rather than rushing around the map.
The map’s key elements include three-lane structures and large wall obstacles that present challenges for navigating. In essence, the map promotes tactical gameplay and necessitates careful coordination to outmaneuver opponents.
As usual, teams have around 10 minutes to reach 100 kills. The first team to achieve this goal will emerge victorious on the Glitch map. Fortunately, both winning and losing teams will receive the same reward: 1000 XP.
As mentioned earlier, Glitch will be introduced to VALORANT as part of the Episode 9 Act 3 update, set to launch on October 23, 2024.
