G2 is excited to announce the addition of French player Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan as their new jungler for the upcoming 2025 season. Here’s everything you need to know about him.
SkewMond to join G2 and replace Yike
According to reports from Sheep Esports, SkewMond was a highly sought-after player by LEC teams during the offseason. Alongside G2, other teams like SK Gaming, GIANTX, Karmine Corp, and Team Heretics were also interested in acquiring his services.
Team BDS had considered promoting him from their academy squad after his impressive performance in the past year. SkewMond received an offer from G2 while they were competing at Worlds, but he declined at that time.
Domination in the ERL
SkewMond established himself as a notable player in the previous season by carrying Team BDS to victory in both LFL splits as well as winning the LFL Summer and EMEA Masters. Renowned for his proficiency with Nunu, SkewMond showcases versatility by excelling with a range of champions from mages to tanks to bruisers.
In addition, the French player has demonstrated his skills on the ranked ladder, reaching a peak of 1976 LP this year and currently leading soloQ in Split 3 with over 1300 LP.
Continuing the Legacy
Replacing Martin “Yike” Sundelin, who joined G2 in 2023, SkewMond faces the challenge of following in the footsteps of his predecessor. Yike, who made his mark in the LFL with LDLC OL before transitioning to G2, struggled to achieve significant international success despite dominating the domestic scene in the LEC.
As one of the most anticipated offseason moves, SkewMond will be under immense pressure to perform, especially considering G2’s successful track record in the previous season. The team is yet to finalize their support player for 2025, following the departures of Mikyx and Yike post-Worlds.
