Electric trucks have been facing pricing challenges, but truck manufacturers are addressing this issue. The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali, for example, is now $10,000 cheaper than its 2024 predecessor, without compromising on features. In fact, the 2025 model offers a higher range than the 2024 model.
Despite the price cut, the Sierra EV remains relatively expensive, starting at $91,995. This places it above the Rivian R1T and on par with the Tesla Cybertruck in terms of pricing.
Design
The GMC Sierra EV Denali retains a more traditional look compared to other electric trucks like the Tesla Cybertruck and Rivian R1S. With its sporty design, big wheels, and hood sculpting, the Sierra EV appeals to those who prefer a classic yet modern aesthetic.
Interior and Tech
The truck’s interior exudes luxury, featuring premium leather upholstery, a large infotainment display, modern wood panels, and high-quality materials throughout. The infotainment system, based on Android Automotive, comes with a 16.8-inch display and an 11-inch digital gauge cluster.
Performance
The Sierra EV Denali is equipped with a dual-motor electric powertrain, providing all-wheel drive with 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. The truck features air suspension and the innovative Crab Walk feature for diagonal parking. It can tow up to 10,500 pounds, although heavy loads will impact its range.
Range and Charging
The Sierra EV Denali offers an impressive 390 miles of range. An optional max range version boosts this to 460 miles for $100,495. The truck supports fast charging up to 350 kilowatts, providing around 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Price and Availability
GMC plans to introduce two more affordable trims, the Sierra EV Elevation and Sierra EV AT4, in early 2025. The exact pricing and release dates for these models are yet to be announced. In the meantime, the Sierra EV Denali is on its way to dealers for those willing to invest in this premium electric truck.
