The Oura Ring 4 is making waves, but the real star is the new version of the Oura app, available for all Oura Ring users. With a subscription fee of $6 per month to unlock most of the smart ring’s data and insights, is it worth it? Has the new app design enhanced the user experience?
I have been using the revamped Oura Ring app for about 10 days, initially with a third-generation ring and then transitioning to the latest Oura Ring 4. Here’s a rundown of what to expect and whether the subscription is worthwhile.
The revamped Oura app design
Over the past few years, the Oura Ring app was becoming increasingly feature-rich and complex, with added collaborations, statistics, and experimental program offerings. The redesign aims to simplify data examination by reducing the number of tabs from at least five to three and introducing quick glance Circles for key data upfront. The app’s overhaul is a success, offering a cleaner and more user-friendly experience without compromising on functionality.
Streamlined navigation with three tabs to choose from
The app now features three main tabs – Today, Vitals, and My Health, enhancing information access and speed. The Vitals tab stands out with a consolidated view of key metrics, complemented by additional detailed data dropdowns. The redesign focuses on presenting essential data effectively and intuitively.
The redesigned app consolidates key features in a user-friendly format, ensuring a seamless data exploration experience. The introduction of a quick-access menu switcher further enhances usability.
