SuperGaming has recently launched its Indus Battle Royale, a made-in-India game targeted at mobile gamers and esports tournaments.
With an impressive 14 million pre-registrations, the game is now available on both Android and iOS platforms, setting the stage for an esports season with the largest prize pool in Indian battle royale history. Indus is the latest addition to the list of games focused on Indian mobile gamers with India-centric content.
Indus, an Indo-futuristic battle royale game developed by SuperGaming, debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Top Charts for free-to-play games on the iOS App Store.
By blending Indian-inspired themes with futuristic gameplay, Indus Battle Royale offers a unique take on the battle royale genre.
The open beta phase of Indus garnered 14 million pre-registrations and allowed for testing across key regions, with feedback from players playing a crucial role in refining the game’s development, according to the company.
For Android users, the installation specifications include 1.5 GB of space (2.5 GB recommended) and Android version 6.0 and above. iOS users need 2.3 GB of space (2.5 GB recommended) and iOS 12.0 or later for iPhone, and iPadOS 12.0 or later.
Players can engage in traditional battle royale modes, with both FPS and TPS perspectives available on the Virlok map. The game also offers a Team Deathmatch mode with 4v4 and 2v2 matches, pre-made loadouts, and a unique map named Saaplok. Players have the option to personalize their avatars and loadouts.
SuperGaming introduces the innovative feature Cosmium Clutch in the game, which brings a dual-win condition to battle royale matches. In addition to the last-person-standing win, the ultra-rare resource Cosmium spawns in the final circle. Capturing Cosmium grants an instant victory, adding an extra layer of challenge as teams battle to secure it amidst chaos.
The Grudge system adds a unique revenge element to gameplay. When eliminated, players can declare a grudge against their opponent, leading to both players being placed in the same lobby in the next match, with the grudge opponent’s location marked on the map for a chance to settle the score.
To coincide with the game’s launch, SuperGaming announced the Clutch India Movement, a year-long esports roadmap starting with the Indus International Tournament. With a massive prize pool of INR 2.5 crore, this tournament is the largest for any Made in India battle royale game.
Indian and global teams will compete in four tournament phases, with the MVP receiving a customised Mahindra Thar. The Indus International Tournament will be followed by the Indus International Mahasangram in October 2025.
