Exciting news for Android users! Google has officially launched Android 15, offering a next-generation experience. The update is now being rolled out to compatible devices, starting with Google’s Pixel series of smartphones.
One of the standout features of Android 15 is the focus on safety and privacy. Users can now create a secured space for sensitive apps, known as Private Space. This hidden area can be locked behind a local password or biometric authentication, providing a safe haven for health data, banking apps, and other sensitive communication.
Apps in Private Space won’t show up in the multitasker view or settings, and their notifications won’t be publicly visible. Google has also introduced Theft Detection Lock, a feature that uses AI and sensors to detect theft attempts and automatically lock the device for added security.
In case of a stolen device, users can remotely lock their phones using a registered phone number and security verification. Android 15 also enhances the UI for foldable and large-screen devices, offering customizable taskbar options and improved lowlight camera performance in third-party apps.
Satellite-driven messaging support, similar to what iPhones offer, is also coming to Android devices with this update. Android 15 is now available for Pixel phones from the 6 series onwards, including the Pixel Tablet. Users with devices from other manufacturers will have to wait a bit longer for the update.
