Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr have announced the upcoming release of another Tomb Raider collection: Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. The collection is set to launch on PC and consoles on February 14, 2025. This includes a remastered version of Angel of Darkness, a game that has been considered the red-headed stepchild of the series, with hopes of a better state than its original launch. This marks the third Lara Croft-based collection in recent years, following the Lara Croft Collection on Switch in 2023.
After a period of relative quiet since the release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018, there is a resurgence of interest in the franchise. This comes at a time when Netflix has launched a new series titled Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, and Amazon is working on both a new film and game project. It is important to remind both new and old audiences of the iconic Lara Croft and her significance in pop culture.
Alongside the announcement of the remastered collection, Crystal Dynamics revealed that the Tomb Raider franchise has sold over 100 million units in its 25-year history. Additionally, they highlighted various crossovers featuring Lara Croft in games like Brawlhalla, Dead by Daylight, and Rainbow Six Siege.
