Recently, TSM took to social media to discuss the current state of the organization. Despite being a valuable esports organization, Team SoloMid has faced financial struggles in recent years. However, the leadership team remains resilient and is determined to compete at the highest level in several top-tier esports titles, including Call of Duty.
In the past, TSM participated in the COD World League, but their stint was not very successful. After withdrawing from the COD ecosystem, TSM has not been involved with the popular first-person shooter franchise. However, that may be about to change. This decision comes at a challenging time as the Call of Duty League has been facing various issues, including layoffs, viewership problems, and internal conflicts.
Are TSM prepared to navigate these challenges and re-enter the Call of Duty community? Only time will tell.
The revival of TSM in Call of Duty
In a post on Reddit, TSM stated:
‘We want to reaffirm that TSM is still fully committed to esports. Although we cannot share many of the finer details of our plans for the future, we can confirm that we are actively looking to participate in multiple Tier 1 esports including League of Legends, VALORANT, and Call of Duty … Call of Duty has a really dedicated community and it’s something we would love to be a part of.’
The organization also expressed its desire to join the VALORANT Champions Tour and re-enter the League of Legends esports scene. While TSM’s return to Rocket League in 2024 demonstrates a commitment to diversifying its esports presence, some fans are skeptical about the organization’s promises, especially regarding Call of Duty. Concerns have been raised about the high cost of entry into the Call of Duty League and the uncertainty surrounding its future.
Recent layoffs within Activision Blizzard have also affected the esports scene, particularly the Call of Duty League. This uncertainty has made it challenging for organizations like TSM to re-enter the ecosystem after a multi-year absence.
At this point, there are no certainties about the future of the CDL or TSM’s involvement, and only time will tell what the next chapter holds.
