Ubisoft has announced that it will now be releasing games on Steam after years of exclusivity on the Epic Games Store and its own service. The first game to make this transition is last year’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, set to arrive on Steam later this month to coincide with its first anniversary on October 5. The game’s store page is now live, allowing players to wishlist it before the launch.
It’s important to note that while the game can be played without requiring a separate Ubisoft Connect download, a Ubisoft Connect Launcher account will be necessary, according to the Steam page.

Mirage follows Basim, a character introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, on his journey to uncover his past while training to become an assassin. Unlike previous entries, Mirage focuses on stealth-centric gameplay reminiscent of earlier Assassin’s Creed titles.
However, as our own Tomas Franzese mentioned in his review, the game falls short of refreshing the series with innovative gameplay. “At first, Assassin’s Creed Mirage seems like it’s going through all of the proper classical motions of an old-school Assassin’s Creed game, but it lacks the passion and innovation necessary to make it a truly memorable installment.”
With the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows being postponed, Ubisoft is taking the extra time to refine the gaming experience. The delay coincided with an announcement that Ubisoft will be adopting day-one releases on Steam and eliminating the season pass model from future games.
