Oura has unveiled the latest generation of its popular smart ring – the Oura Ring 4. Packed with new features and sporting a fresh design, the Oura Ring 4 aims to set a new standard in the world of smart rings.
Prior to its launch, Jason Russell, vice president of consumer software product at Oura, shared some exclusive insights about the ring with Digital Trends, shedding light on what makes it stand out.
New Design of the Oura Ring 4
The Oura Ring 4 boasts a titanium construction, with an improved design for enhanced comfort during extended wear. The new metal design extends to the ring’s underside, replacing the epoxy resin used in previous models. The sensors are now flatter, providing increased comfort. The ring is available in a wider range of sizes, from size 4 to size 15, and comes in six different finishes.
Enhanced Sensors for Improved Accuracy
The Oura Ring 4 features upgraded sensors that improve accuracy. The Smart Sensing algorithm, working with the sensors, gathers information across 18 different pathways for better results. This new platform enhances blood oxygen sensing, breathing disturbance accuracy, and heart rate recording, delivering a significant performance boost.
Redesigned Oura App
Accompanying the new ring design is a redesigned Oura app, featuring 24 new features introduced over the last 18 months. The app is organized to focus on holistic health, aligning with short and long-term metrics important for users.
All features will be available for all Oura Ring members
The app also includes enhancements to existing features, such as expanded activity monitoring, stress tracking, and upcoming fertility tracking. The app will be available to current Oura Ring owners in the coming weeks.
Oura Ring 4 Price and Availability
The Oura Ring 4 is priced at $349 and is available for preorder through Oura’s online store, with a release date of October 15. It will also be sold through various retailers. The latest version offers significant advancements across design, accuracy, and functionality, aiming to retain Oura’s reputation as a leading smart ring provider.
