The OWCS is currently underway, but we are also excited for the upcoming season of another OW tournament. The Overwatch FACEIT League S3 is about to kick off, marking the third season of this tournament series since FACEIT entered the competitive Overwatch scene. While the official tournament series is now open, the FACEIT League offers a unique experience.
Scheduled to run through Autumn, the FACEIT League S3 provides a great opportunity for up-and-coming players as the main Overwatch esports season comes to a close. How does the league operate and when does it begin?
FaceIt League S3
The Overwatch FACEIT League S3 is set to start on Monday, October 7th. This grassroots tournament series for Overwatch, organized by FACEIT, boasts an impressive prize pool of $50,000 and has already attracted over 300 teams eager to compete.
The FACEIT League aims to provide teams with a stepping stone into a more official competitive format, allowing them to gain valuable experience in a competitive environment. With weekly games, teams will have the opportunity to hone their skills and improve consistently. The league events will be held for teams from EMEA, North America, Oceania, and South America. FACEIT League Season 3 presents a fantastic chance for rising players to showcase their talent. Even individual players without a team can join the “look-for-team” section to participate.
This tournament follows an open format, but it encourages competition among lower-ranked teams that have the potential to make an impact in the OWCS in the future. The third season of the event series is set to return soon, with the regular season running until November 24th. Following that, the Playoffs will determine the top teams that will share the substantial prize pool.
