Last weekend, I had an interesting conversation at a wedding where I shared that I write about video games. The stranger I was talking to mentioned her favorite game, which turned out to be the somewhat obscure MySims. Now, fans of this cult classic will be delighted to know that MySims: Cozy Bundle is making a surprise return this year, bundling the original game and MySims Kingdom with some modern updates. I had the opportunity to try out this re-release at a Nintendo event and discovered a few key improvements that fans will enjoy.
Entering the world of MySims in the demo, I was able to create my character and design my house just like in the original release. However, one significant change in Cozy Bundle is the revamped control scheme. The game has transitioned from motion controls to standard gamepad controls, which can feel a bit awkward at times, especially during house building. But the good news is that Cozy Bundle now supports the Nintendo Switch’s touchscreen, making navigation and customization much smoother.
Another notable change in Cozy Bundle is the visual upgrade, making the chibi visuals look cleaner and smoother. While the core gameplay remains unchanged, fans will appreciate the refined look of the game. If you missed out on MySims back in 2007, this re-release is a great opportunity to experience it, especially if you enjoy games like Animal Crossing.
MySims: Cozy Bundle will be available on November 19 for Nintendo Switch.
