Lenovo has inadvertently revealed the existence of two upcoming handheld gaming consoles. The company recently unveiled documentation for its new Legion Go USB-C Dock, which mentions support for two new devices: the Legion Go Gen 2 and Legion Go Lite.
This is not the first time the Legion Go Lite has been mentioned. Back in May, Windows Central reported Lenovo’s work on a Lite version of the original Legion Go. It was speculated that this smaller 7-inch device would be powered by the AMD Z1 series chipset with certain improvements and a lower price.
Recently, YouTuber NITRXX leaked images of what appears to be the outer shell of the Legion Go Lite. The new Legion Go Lite may include fixed controllers, a smaller trackpad, fewer rear buttons, and repositioned auxiliary buttons.
Regarding the Legion Go Gen 2, details are scarce apart from the name. It is speculated to possibly succeed the current Legion Go.
The original Legion Go features AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, 16GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, competing with devices like the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally. What sets it apart is the 8-inch display and detachable controllers, similar to the Nintendo Switch.
While there’s no confirmed information, it’s expected that the Legion Go Gen 2 will have an upgraded chipset, potentially utilizing the latest AMD or Intel chips suitable for handheld gaming consoles.
