Changes to COD Mobile Avatar Feature
Activision communicated this alteration through the Activision Support page without specifying the exact motive behind it. The removal of Facebook profile pictures as avatars was primarily implemented to regulate the in-game environment, as some users were displaying inappropriate images linked to their Facebook accounts as avatars.
Although the decision received backlash from the COD Mobile community, with criticisms suggesting that the majority is being penalized due to the actions of a minority, Activision’s move can be understood as a preventative measure considering the lack of control over Facebook images.
