Capcom revealed at today’s State of Play event that its upcoming action-RPG Monster Hunter Wilds is launching on February 28, 2025. It launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Capcom also released a cinematic trailer for the game, where it revealed more of the world and story.
The trailer shows off a few of the monsters players can expect to encounter while out hunting, including Arkveld, the White Wraith, the game’s flagship monster. The Hunters rescue a young boy, Nata, whose village was destroyed by the Wraith, and they form a research commission to investigate this supposedly extinct species. The player character is part of the commission’s Avis Unit.
Monster Hunter remains one of Capcom’s biggest franchises, with cumulative sales of over 100 million units worldwide according to the company’s most recent quarterly financial report. Monster Hunter World continues to bring in large sales, with both Monster Hunter Stories games also boosting sales for the IP in that quarter.
Capcom also revealed the pre-order bonuses, which include special knight attire and a digital art book. It promises to reveal more about the game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
