M80 maNkz has decided to take a break from the team’s active roster due to ongoing mental health struggles. Known for his time with Copenhagen Flames, maNkz has played a crucial role in M80’s success in the NA scene.
maNkz’s Absence
The team, M80, announced maNkz’s absence before the player himself shared the reasons behind his decision to step back.
News of maNkz’s leave comes shortly after the passing of BOSS player cynic, causing a stir in the NA scene. It’s commendable to see a player prioritize their mental health over their team. The demands of the Counter-Strike scene are strenuous, requiring an immense amount of dedication to reach the highest level.
Hopefully, maNkz will take the time he needs to address his mental health struggles and come back to M80 rejuvenated and ready.
Who Replaces maNkz?
With M80’s participation in IEM Katowice 2024 starting soon and the Americas RMR for the Copenhagen Major on the horizon, the tournament organizers have allowed the team to find a replacement.
During maNkz’s absence, the team’s coach, dephh, will fill in temporarily. dephh, who spent three years on Complexity’s lineup as a player, has been inactive for over four years now.
NA organization M80 made their mark in competitive CS2 in July last year, quickly gaining a strong following by excelling in Tier 1 events. They even outperformed Liquid in the Copenhagen Major RMR Closed Qualifier. Now, their ability to cope with a higher level of competition on the server will be put to the test.
