Spotify has expanded the availability of its AI Playlist tool to the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand after initially launching it for Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia.
This innovative feature, currently in beta on Android and iOS devices, empowers users to create personalized playlists by responding to written prompts. For example, users can input phrases like “a romantic playlist for date night at home” and receive a customized selection of songs tailored to the specified mood.
To enhance the playlist further, users can augment it with additional prompts, while Spotify also offers suggestions for prompts to spark creativity. Mixing genres, moods, artists, and decades is encouraged to craft unique playlists that cater to individual preferences. Additionally, users have the flexibility to personalize their playlists by incorporating locations, animals, movie characters, colors, and even emojis.
Spotify reports that the AI-powered playlist feature has been well-received in the U.K. and Australia, with subscribers creating “millions of playlists that they keep coming back to,” as stated in the company’s recent blog post.
To access the AI playlist creation tool, users can navigate to the “Your Library” tab, click on the plus button (+) at the top right corner of the screen, and select “AI Playlist” from the menu alongside “Playlist” and “Blend.” By tapping the “Create” button, users can save the personalized playlist to their library for future enjoyment.
