The original Insta360 Link came onto the scene with a high $299 price tag, but received positive feedback in my 2022 review. Now, two years later, the company has introduced two new models to replace it.
In my previous review, I mentioned that the high price of the Link was due to its dynamic gimbal base, which some users may not find necessary. The new Link 2 and Link 2C models address this issue by offering more affordable prices at $200 and $150 respectively. I have tested both models extensively, and the 2C has become my preferred daily webcam.
The main distinction between the Link 2 and 2C is the absence of a gimbal on the 2C. While the Link 2 is better suited for specific use cases like presentations, the 2C offers a more practical option for everyday users.
Both cameras can record in 4K at 30 frames per second and support HDR capture for varying lighting conditions. Additionally, the 2C’s lack of a gimbal may limit some functions, such as subject tracking, but it offers a sleeker design and a privacy switch on the side.
Overall, the Insta360 Link 2 and 2C offer impressive upgrades over the original model at more accessible prices, making them a great option for users looking for high-quality webcams.
