Sony released system update 24.06-10.01.00 without commenting further on the situation. In the patch notes, they simply stated, “We’ve improved system software performance and stability.”
While players reported issues with other games like Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and No Man’s Sky, Square Enix was the only studio to publically mention them in response to this specific update. They stated that they are working with Sony to investigate the reported crashes and graphical issues.
The issues began with the previous week’s PS5 system update 24.06-10.00.00, which introduced new features such as the Welcome Hub and personalized 3D audio profiles. One player shared their experience of glitches in Final Fantasy 16, prompting others on the game’s subreddit to discuss and coordinate actions.
