Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. It challenges you to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying their relationships. Each day, a new puzzle with varying difficulty is released, allowing you to track your progress and compete with friends, similar to Wordle.
If you’re struggling with today’s Connections puzzle, follow our tips and hints below. And if you still can’t crack it, find the answers at the end of this post.
How to play Connections
In Connections, you must categorize 16 words into four sets of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections could be related to various themes like video game titles, book series sequels, colors, or restaurant names.
While some words may fit multiple themes, there’s only one correct answer. You can rearrange the grid to visualize connections better. Each group is color-coded from easiest (yellow) to hardest (purple).
Select four words and hit Submit. Correct guesses reveal the theme, while incorrect ones count as mistakes. You have a limited number of mistakes before the game ends.
