The iconic game, Flappy Bird, that disappeared a decade ago may be making a comeback, as The Flappy Bird Foundation recently announced plans to relaunch the official Flappy Bird® game.
However, the creator of Flappy Bird, Dong Nguyen, has quickly distanced himself from the revival. In a brief statement, he made it clear that he has not sold anything and does not support crypto. This contradicts the foundation’s announcement, which stated that a new team had acquired the rights from Gametech Holdings, LLC to share the game with the world.
Despite the foundation’s efforts, Nguyen’s disassociation with the project is evident and he does not seem pleased about it. As for any potential crypto involvement, it has been hinted at on the Flappy Bird Foundation website, suggesting a move towards Web 3.0 with solana.
Flappy Bird, known for its simple gameplay and retro graphics, took the app stores by storm upon its release in 2013. However, it was abruptly taken down by Nguyen in 2014, citing personal reasons.
