The International 2024 (TI13) is well underway, and the tournament has already seen some major eliminations within just a few days of kicking off.
As of Sep. 10, at least four teams have exited the tournament, leaving many fans distraught by the outcomes of The International 2024’s Playoff stage.
Review of TI13 Playoffs Eliminations
The first round of lower bracket matches concluded with the early elimination of Talon Esports and Team Zero. In most cases, these results were expected given the strong performances of their opponents.
Nouns’ Disappointment at TI13
The North American Dota 2 fans faced a tough day as the region’s sole representative, Nouns, saw their TI13 journey come to an end. After a close defeat against Gaimin Gladiators in the Upper Bracket, Nouns had to go up against BetBoom Team.
BetBoom Team’s aggressive gameplay and strategic drafts caught Nouns off guard, leading to their quick demise. Despite putting up a fight, Nouns could not overcome the early advantage that BetBoom established. The relentless pressure from BetBoom resulted in dominating team fights and objective taking, sealing Nouns’ fate.
Although the odds were stacked against them, Nouns had shown promise by defeating Team Spirit and challenging Gaimin, the Riyadh Masters 2024 Champions, in previous matches.
1w Team’s Tough Exit
The Eastern European team, 1w Team, made their TI debut but faced elimination in the second round of the Lower Bracket against Team Falcons. Despite their efforts, 1w Team couldn’t match the experience and strategy of Team Falcons.
While their performance showcased an understanding of the current meta, it wasn’t enough to secure a victory against the seasoned opponents.
Future Prospects for Nouns and 1w
With their journey in TI13 coming to a close, Nouns and 1w Team can now look ahead to the future. Whether they choose to continue competing in Dota 2 or explore other opportunities, both teams have shown potential for growth and improvement.
As the post-TI13 season approaches, roster shuffles may occur, but it would be a shame to see these talented teams disband. Nouns and 1w Team have proven their capabilities and will be remembered for their efforts in The International 2024.
