Speculation is rife that the PS5 Pro might be unveiled during this presentation. Recent hints and leaks have fueled this speculation, including subtle clues in a recent image released by PlayStation for its 30th anniversary celebrations. According to The Verge’s Tom Warren, the image features what appears to be a rectangle with four diagonal stripes in the middle, aligning with a DealLabs report about the console’s design.
Furthermore, leaks have surfaced detailing the alleged specs of the PS5 Pro, which suggest enhanced performance in terms of rendering, ray tracing, and deep learning capabilities, along with a faster GPU. Development kits were reportedly distributed months ago in anticipation of a fall 2024 release.
Considering Sony’s history of mid-generation console refreshes like the PlayStation 3 Slim or PlayStation 4 Pro, it would not be surprising for them to announce a PS5 Pro during this period. Sony has already introduced a PlayStation 5 Slim with an optional disc-drive attachment, hinting at their commitment to offering variations throughout the console’s lifecycle.
