- Balatro sold 1 million copies in its first month
Popular card roguelike game Balatro is set to launch on mobile devices later this month. The game will be available on Android and iOS starting Tuesday, September 26th, 2024, as announced by the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
For iOS users, Balatro will be included in the Apple Arcade subscription on the release date. Additionally, the game’s publisher Playstack has released an announcement trailer for the mobile launch.
Balatro combines poker rules with a roguelike structure, allowing players to achieve high scores and progress using Joker cards for an advantage. The game’s popularity on Steam has prompted its move to the mobile market.

Balatro, which initially launched in February, faced controversy regarding its poker-themed gameplay being associated with gambling. Despite this, the game managed to sell a million copies in its first month, as acknowledged by its creator, LocalThunk, in a Reddit AMA.
