Samsung recently announced the launch of its newest Galaxy Book model, the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, as the first of its new lineup of “powerhouse AI PCs.” This Copilot+ laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor (Lunar Lake) capable of delivering up to 47 tera operations per second (TOPS) of neural processing unit (NPU) power. Additionally, users can link their Galaxy phones to access even more AI features.
The PC includes an Intel Arc GPU that boosts graphics performance by up to 17%. Samsung reports that the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 will offer over 300 AI-accelerated features across 100 different apps, with plans for Copilot+ PC experiences to be added in future updates expected in November.
By connecting a compatible Galaxy phone via Microsoft Phone Link, users can access Galaxy AI features such as Circle to Search with Google, Chat Assist, Live Translate, and Transcript Assist. The laptop emphasizes “performance meets ecosystem connectivity,” suggesting enhanced functionality for users with other Samsung devices. However, it remains unclear if Samsung will integrate these AI features natively into its PCs.
In terms of hardware, the device features a large 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with Vision Booster for improved outdoor visibility and glare reduction. With a resolution of 2880 x 1800, Samsung ensures a high-quality display experience. The touchscreen functionality, combined with 360 hinges and the included S Pen, allows users to use the PC like a tablet, although folding the screen fully back may cause the keyboard and touchpad to touch the surface.
The Snapdragon Copilot+ PCs are known for their impressive battery life, and Samsung promises “all-day battery life” with up to 25 hours of video playback for its Intel Copilot+ PC. The actual performance under real-world usage remains to be seen, and reviews will provide more insights. Available in configurations with 16GB or 32GB of RAM and 512GB or 1TB of storage, the 2-in-1 laptop will hit stores this month.
