JLab has recently unveiled their newest sports-oriented wireless earbuds – the JLab Epic Sport ANC 3. This time, the company has collaborated with balanced armature maker Knowles to enhance the sound quality of the buds. Priced at $100, they will be available online in September and in stores from October onwards.
The Epic Sport ANC 3 inherit their legacy from the Epic Air Sport ANC wireless earbuds, renowned for being a top choice among sporty individuals who prefer not to spend exorbitant amounts like the Beats Powerbeats Pro. The new sports buds come at an opportune time, coinciding with Beats’ announcement of the forthcoming Powerbeats Pro next-generation model.
The standout feature of the Epic Sport ANC 3 is their enhanced sonic architecture. With a 10mm dynamic driver for bass and a Knowles balanced armature driver for treble, the buds deliver more detailed and refined sound quality with better frequency separation. These buds support Sony’s LDAC Bluetooth codec for hi-res audio (Android only).
Equipped with earhooks, the buds feature a spatial audio EQ mode for immersive sound experience, hybrid active noise cancellation, and JLab’s Be Aware mode for transparency.
The battery life of the Epic Sport ANC 3 remains robust, promising over 10 hours with ANC on and up to 12 hours with ANC off. Including the case, users can expect up to 42 hours of use with ANC on and 52 hours with ANC off.
Bluetooth Multipoint allows simultaneous connection to two devices, and the buds support quick pairing with Android and Windows devices through Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Rated IP66 for water and dust resistance, the Epic Sport ANC 3 provide decent protection for sports activities.
Charging the case is convenient with an integrated USB-C cable, a dedicated USB-C port, and wireless charging compatibility.
